The Royal Hall of Industries, affectionately known by Sydneysiders simply as the Showbag Pavilion is majestic, grand, and rich in history.

Since its opening in 1913, the Royal Hall of Industries was considered to be the pinnacle of building techniques. It has served as an exhibition hall and morgue, ice- and roller-skating rink, boxing arena, and ballroom.

The building was sympathetically restored and boasts a vaulted ceiling with magnificent cathedral windows. It hosts many Sydney's most prestigious special events. This blank canvas allows you to create your vision.

The Royal Hall of Industries could be anything...

Since 30 August 2021, works are under way to transform the Royal Hall of Industries in to a premier sporting and community hub. It will also be home to the Sydney Swans' youth academy and elite training facilities. The community will have access to new facilities, including a cafeteria and outoor plaza. These works will be complete in the second half of 2022.

You can find more information about the project at the Official AFL Website for the Sydney Swans Football Club

The Sydney Swans lease the Royal Hall of Industries (GSP) from Greater Sydney Parklands. All rental funds are used to protect and improve Centennial Parklands.

Public access to greenspaces will continue for the duration of the work.
