IOTA celebrates 60 years!

HAM RADIO: In Friedrichshafen, on the shores of Lake Constance, everything revolves around amateur radio from June 28 to 30. This meeting, in cooperation with the organizers and the DARC as the concept sponsor of Europe's biggest amateur radio trade show, will open up a world filled with almost limitless possibilities. This vast, open world is a key part of the motto for HAM RADIO 2020: We celebrate 60 Years of IOTA-Islands On The Air!

The international IOTA program was established in 1964 to promote radio contact with stations located on islands all over the world. From small rocky islands in vast oceans to the biggest islands, this program has helped establish radio connections since 1964. Many IOTA participants and fans can relate stories of adventures on remote islands. IOTA represents the sense of adventure that each radio amateur experiences, even if they don't set sail themselves. It is also a sign of friendly competition between radio amateurs. IOTA represents the importance of amateur radio, as a unifying force around the world.

The motto of the 47th HAM radio is "60 Years of Islands on the air: Technology meets adventure!".

From June 28 to 30 2024, the international amateur radio exhibition will bring together industry professionals and enthusiasts of the ham radio community.
